The Doris Duke Foundation: The Dancer
Role: Video Producer, Post Producer
Doris Duke came to TAIT with the challenge of producing the Doris Duke Artist Awards. The event was established in 2012 to “unlock the power of creativity and to shape our society for the better, recognizing artists for their established record of achievement within the disciplines of contemporary dance, jazz and theater.” In addition to producing their event, TAIT also produced a video that would highlight Tarik Currimbhoy, a sculptor and architect, who was commissioned to create the event’s prestigious award. The video would be premiere during the Doris Duke Artist Awards before they presented the Winners of the evening’s celebrations.
Scope Breakdown
As the Video Producer on this project, my role included the oversight of the video’s creative development and direction as well as collaborating with a larger team to coordinate the logistics, sourcing a video production partner (CoenFilm), budgeting, scheduling, and post-production, which was handled in-house at TAIT. The video went on to win Telly Awards for Cinematography and Editing. During the event, I also oversaw the video production and photography capture of the event.
